Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2

Situation

Random crash under high load in prebootpolicy service novell-zmgprebootpolicy.exe
 
ERROR (from event log):
novell-zmgprebootpolicy.exe,
version 0.0.0.0, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, fault
address 0x00011787.
 

Resolution

Workaround:  
 
Set policyloglevel  to minimal logging in novell-zmgprebootpolicy.conf (%ZENWORKS_HOME%\conf or /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/)
 
PolicyLogLevel=1
 
and restart the service.
