Notes added to contacts are not correctly syncing between GroupWise and devices

Environment

Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack 1.2.2 (Build 794)
Novell GroupWise 2012

Situation

  • Adding notes to contact in GroupWise do not sync to device.
  • Adding notes to contact on device sync to Groupwise.
  • Changing notes, added from device, with GroupWise erases notes made on the device.
  • No notes show up on the device, when added with GroupWise.

Resolution

This is reported as fixed in newer code for DataSync and GroupWise.  Please update to the latest DataSync (1.2.4 at the time this TID was updated), and GroupWise 2012 SP1.  The main fix was made in GroupWise.

Additional Information

There is a lot of discussion taking place.  Certain pieces are working as designed while others are not.  There are a lot of field mappings related to notes in GroupWise that can't fully be mapped to devices, making it possible for some notes to sync while others will not.  It is unclear whether this is a bug or a enhancement, but is believed to have worked in an earlier version or DataSynchronizer.  A similar issue was reported on Android devices that is believed to have been fixed for 1.2.3, which has NOT shipped at the time this TID was written.
