Job fails with “Access Denied. Not enough server storage is available to process this command."

Environment

PlateSpin Migrate 12.x
PlateSpin Protect 11.x

Situation

This article discusses an error that is encountered when attempting to discover a Windows-based server. The discovery may fail with “Access Denied. Not enough server storage is available to process this command.” Migrate/Protect jobs may also fail with the same error.
 
This issue may occur if an insufficient IRP stack size is specified in the server’s registry. There is a documented Microsoft knowledge base article on how to resolve this issue.

Resolution

The registry changes outlined in the following Microsoft knowledge base article should resolve this issue.

 

Antivirus software may cause Event ID 2011

Antivirus applications may also cause this issue to occur, it is recommended to disable/uninstall these services if the above registry changes do not make any difference. Alternatively, it is also recommended to engage Microsoft for further assistance on potential IRP stack issues with the server.
