Updating NAM 3.1 to NAM 3.1 SP1 breaks the kerberos authentication method

Environment

Novell Access Manager 3.1

Situation

  • The kerberos authentication method does not work any more since NAM 3.1 had been applied

  • The "/var/opt/novell/tomcat5/logs/catalina.out" log file does not return any "Commit Succeeded" message as stated in the "Verifying the Kerberos Configuration" section in the Novell Access manager AdminGuide.


  
Resolution
 Copy the "bcsLogin.conf" and the "nidpkey.keytab" file from "nidp:/opt/novell/jdk1.6.0_07/jre/lib/security" to "opt/novell/java/jre/lib/security" and restart the NIDP server
