Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management
Situation
This TID is specifically for imaged devices that include ZENworks Agent and uncleared guid files.
If zac fsg -d was not used prior to taking image, or if third party imaging software restores the zisd data, multiple devices receiving same image may register with same guid.
Depending on the setting for Agent dynamic device renaming, this may manifest as either:
- Error -34 when second and subsequent devices register.
or - All devices become unregistered except the last one who registered with this guid (missing bundles etc. on all but one device with same guid).
Resolution
After correcting the base image, in 10.2.1 and above, to reset the guid on the invalid devices, use the -g option for zac reg to create a new guid for the device. NOTE: -g must not be used on server or satellite device.
