Situation
Unable to send Internet mails to GroupWise users through Distribution Lists
GWIA shows "Recipient is undeliverable" when trying to send a mail to a Distribution List
Unable to send Internet mails to any GroupWise users through Distribution Lists
Resolution
Reported to Engineering
Workaround Steps:
- Launch ConsoleOne.
- Click Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Internet Addressing.
- Click the Addressing Formats tab if this is GroupWise 8 snap-ins. If GroupWise 7 snap-ins are being used the stay on the current tab.
- Put a check mark on "UserID@Internet domain name" in Allowed Address Formats.
- Click OK.
Additional Information
Steps to Duplicate:
- Launch ConsoleOne.
- Create a user named user1.
- Click Tools | GroupWise System Operations | Internet Addressing.
- Change the default Preferred Address Format to FirstName.LastName@Internet domain name or anything else except UserID@internet domain name.
- Now Right Click on user1 and click Properties.
- Click GorupWise | Internet Addressing.
- Now perform an override on Preferred Email ID and set it to user1a.
- Click Apply and Close.
- Create a Distribution List named DL1 and add user1 as a member to the Distribution List.
- Enable "Expand Distribution Lists on incoming messages" in GWIA Properties | SMTP/MIME | Address Handling.
- Now send a mail to DL1 from the Internet.
- GWIA shows that the "Recipient is undeliverable".
