Situation
After upgrading or installing eDirectory 8.8.5 on windows there is
no service named Novell or NDS or eDirectory for eDirectory under
the 'Services' management console (Start: Run: services.msc).
In previous versions of eDirectory this
Resolution
The eDirectory service name on windows now starts with a reference
to the architecture of the system. For 32-bit systems this
prefix is 'x86' and for 64-bit systems the prefix is 'x64' As
a result the service that would have been named:
NDS Server...
is now named:
x86 NDS Server...
or
x64 NDS Server...
NDS Server...
is now named:
x86 NDS Server...
or
x64 NDS Server...
