Situation

The purpose of this TID is for the locating of useful log files in Novell Teaming for Trouble shooting purposes.

Resolution

There a three major log files when dealing with Teaming.
The first is the "installer.log" file which is created during the installation.
The second is the "catalina.out" file which is a running log while Teaming is running.
The third is the "ssf.log".

Locations:
It needs to be understood that location varies according to the platform (Linux or Windows) that Teaming is running on, and where the code was installed to.  From the base location the paths to files are the same.
Default locations on Linux:
Teaming 1.x:  /opt/icecore/liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-jdk5-4.3.0
Teaming 2.x  /opt/novell/teaming/apache-tomcat-6.0.18

Default locations on Windows:
Teaming 1.x:  c:\icecore\liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-jdk5-4.3.0
Teaming 2.x  c:\Program Files\Novell\Teaming\apache-tomcat-6.0.18

From here out these locations will be designated as <tomcat>

The "installer.log" file can be found in the directory from which Novell Teaming was installed from.
The "catalina.out" file can be found in the <tomcat>/logs directory.
On windows the catalina.out is often named with a date (example: catalina.2009-07-20.log).
Also on windows if running Teaming as a Service the catalina.out will be named as "stdout_yyyy-mm-dd.log.
The "ssf.log" file is found in the <tomcat>/webapps/ssf/WEB-INF/logs directory.
