How to set policy so that standalone RMViewer can be used

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 2 - 10.2

Situation

How to modify a remote management policy so that standalone remote viewer (nzrViewer.exe ) can be used to remote control the device.

Resolution

The Remote control policy must include change from default to set SSLClientAuthentication and enable password mode.  Note:  rights can be used only when launched from ZCC

  1. Uncheck "Allow connection when Remote Mangement Console does not have SSL certificate ".
  2. Set "Enable password based authentication ".

Additional Information

If the password is set to persistent , only the administrator who is connecting needs to know the password.  If the password is set to session then both the sides must know the same password.
 
Note:  Although some versions of the documentation include a listing for /zenrights flag, the standalone viewer is limited to password rights only.  Use /? for a list of supported switches.
