Situation

Tips working with DLU Login Restrictions.

Resolution

  • After adding or removing a workstation to or from the Excluded or Included lists, workstations must be cold or warm booted to reread the policy for it to be in affect.
  • Only enable 'Login Restrictions' for the OS policy that needs to be restricted.
  • For every OS policy that 'Login Restrictions' is enabled, the Excluded and Included lists must be populated for DLU to be restricted on that OS.
  • After cold or warm rebooting the workstations, try one DLU user for login.  If it fails, try a second user.  The second user should work if all is configured correctly.  If the second user worked, try the first user again.  DS must sync the policy to all replicas.  This may take some time so if this symptom is seen, test for DS sync being a factor.  One TID to start with is KB 3197766 Checking the OS and DS Health for inconsistent ZENworks behavior.
