Environment

Business Service Manager 4.0
Business Service Manager 4.5

Situation

When trying to login to the client, a popup with the following error message is received.

ERROR: JAR-resources in the file JNLP has not been signed by the same certificate

Resolution

This error happens when the Java resources cached on the client workstation are at a higher version level than the ones being downloaded from the server.  Typically this occurs when logging into a 4.0 system after having been logged into a 4.5 system.  It is necessary to clear your Java cache using the following steps:

1.  Click the Start button on your Windows machine and select the Settings submenu, and Control Panel from that submenu.
2.  Double click the Java icon in the Control Panel.
3.  Select one of the following based on the local version of Java installed
     A.  Java 1.5
           1.  On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files... button.
           2.  In the popup window that appears, verify that all checkboxes are checked, then click OK.
     B.  Java 1.6
           1.  On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Settings... button.
           2.  In the popup window that appears, click the Delete Files... button.
           3.  In the popup window that appears, verify that all checkboxes are checked, then click OK.
