Cannot use NFS as installation source with rug on SLE 11

Situation

Cannot use nfs as installation source in rug commands such as
rug sa -t zypp nfs://[server name]/install/sles11-x86_64

ERROR: Invalid URI scheme. Supported : http, ftp and absolute path

Command works with SLE 10

Resolution

Additional Information

For performance reasons, libzypp is no longer supported for ZLM on SLE 11, and this has removed direct nfs support in rug. The workaround shown in the documentation will still allow these sources to be used, however.
