Environment
Novell NetWare Clustering Services
Novell NetWare 6.5
Novell NetWare 6.5
Situation
A Cluster Resource is stuck in the NDS Sync state.
A cluster volume called 2GVOL is created and then cluster enabled. The corresponding cluster volume resource will get stuck in the NDS sync state when switching over to the Cluster View in ConsoleOne and placed ONLINE.
If you shutdown and restart the cluster it will then start ok.

Resolution
Workaround is to avoid leading numeric characters in volumes or cluster resource names. This defect has been reported to Engineering and will be addressed in a future release of Clustering Services.
Additional Information
CMA strips leading numeric characters from resource names (assuming, incorrectly, they cannot be created this way).
