Situation
Openwbem.ncf runs and appears to load owcimomd.nlm, but typing modules owcimomd.nlm after it runs shows owcimomd.nlm does not remain loaded.
This can cause iManager to return file protocol errors when attempting to perform management operations.
Check the sys:\system\cimom\var\owcimomd.log for the following errors:
EXCEPTION CAUGHT IN CIMOM MAIN!
OW_PosixFileSystem.cpp: 464 FileSystemException: Can't open random file for writing

Check the sys:\system\cimom\var\owcimomd.log for the following errors:
dlSharedLibraryLoader : : loadSharedLibrary dlopen returned NULL. Error is: (dlfcn) No such symbol was found.

Resolution
Verify that the SYS:/BIN/UNIXENV.NCF line exists and is not remarked out of the AUTOEXEC.NCF file.
The UNIXENV.NCF file sets up environment variables that are required for openwbem to load properly.
Unremark or add the SYS:/BIN/UNIXENV.NCF to the AUTOEXEC.NCF file and restart the server and OWCIMOMD.NLM should load properly.
