How to give another user administration access

Configuration:
Novell Teaming is installed correctly.

Situation

Purpose:
How to create another admin user or how to give another user administration access to Teaming.

Resolution

For Teaming 2.x 
  1. While logged into Teaming as the Admin.
  2. Click on "Manage" in the Menu bar
  3. Select "Site Administration"
  4. Select "Access Control for Zone Administration Functions"
  5. Click on "Add and User" and search for the desired user
  6. If needed click on "Add a Role" and add "Zone Administration"
  7. Check the box for the added user and "Zone Administration" then click on "Save Changes"
  8. Click on Close
  9. Click on Close
  10. Click on the highest workspace called "Home Workspace"
  11. Click on "Manage" in the Menu bar
  12. Select "Access Control"
  13. Click on "Add a user"
  14. Search for the desired user you want to give admin rights to.
  15. Select "Add a Role" and add the roles "Workspace and Folder Administrator"& "Workspace Creator".
  16. Now check the box for "Team Member", "Workspace and Folder Administrator"& "Workspace Creator" for that user.
  17. Click on the "Save Changes" button.
  18. You can now close the portlet
  19. Sign In as the new user and test the access.  It is not a full of access as the Admin, but most functions are there now.
For Teaming 1.x
 
There are two areas of Administration within Teaming.  One is for the Liferay portal and the other is for Teaming itself.  Liferay controls the creation and authentication of users.  Teaming controls the features within Teaming such as: workflows, workspace management, access controls, etc.
For Liferay:
  1. Login into Teaming as Admin.
  2. In the "Enterprise Admin" portlet click on the Roles tab
  3. You should see an "Administrator" role.
  4. On the right hand end of the line for the Administrator Role there is an icon for "Assign Members"
  5. Click on that Icon
  6. You should see a list of current users assigned to this role.
  7. Click on the "Available" tab
  8. Now you should see the whole list of users.
  9. Check the box for the user you want to give administrative rights to.
  10. Click on the "Update Associations" button.
  11. You have now given those users administrative rights to Liferay.
  12. Click on the "Portal" link to close the portlet
For Teaming:
  1. While logged into Teaming as the Admin.
  2. Go to the "Novell Teaming Enterprise Navigator"  portlet.
  3. Click on the highest workspace called "Workspaces"
  4. Click on "Manage" in the top right corner
  5. Select "Access Control"
  6. Click on "Add a user"
  7. Search for the desired user you want to give admin rights to.
  8. Now check the box for "Site administrator" for that user.
  9. Click on the "Save Changes" button.
  10. You can now close the portlet
If you login as this user, you should be able to add the administrative portlets and have full control.

Additional Information

Notes:
 
If the goal is to have a user who can add users who are not part of an LDAP directory, then only give them the Liferay administration rights.
If the goal is to have a user who can manage Teaming functions but not add users, then only give them the Teaming administration rights.
