ZESM client cannot successfully get policy update if going through proxy

Environment

Novell ZENworks Endpoint Security Management

Situation

ZESM client has successfully authenticated to ZESM server but fails to receive policy update. 
 
No errors are seen, just no policy update.

Resolution

The current ZESM architecture requires the client to bypass any Windows proxy servers when communicating to the server.

 

To resolve this issue ensure that either “bypass proxy server for local addresses ” is checked or explicitly add the ZESM server to the proxy settings exclusion list.
