Novell eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1 for NetWare 6.5
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 8
Situation
If you upgrade to eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1 before applying NetWare 6.5 SP8, two things will happen:
1) NDSIMON.NLM will get upgraded to a non-compatible version (8.8.4).
Additionally, you will see the following error on the logger screen:
Loading module NDSIMON.NLM

Resolution
If you have not upgraded to eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1 nor NetWare 6.5 SP8:
- apply NW65SP8 first
- then apply eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1
If you have have already applied eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1, then you will want to re-apply eDirectory 8.7.3.10 ftf1 after upgrading to NetWare 6.5 SP8.
Additional Information
The reason for the modules being back-revved is that NetWare 6.5 SP8 is deemed to be authoritative, as far as eDirectoy 8.7.3 is concerned. As it is authoritative, it modifies any modules on the running server to the versions contained within SP8 and is thereby working as designed.
