ZRSUninstall fails if BOE was previously removed

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 1 - 10.1

Situation

After installing ZRS (ZENworks Reporting Server) 10.1 and then uninstalling BOE (BusinessObjects Enterprise) using add/remove programs, then ZRSUninstall.exe fails.
 
ERROR (from ZRSUninstall xml log):
 
com.novell.zenworks.configure.ConfigureException: ZRS Uninstall Failed
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: RegOpenKeyEx returned 2
 
ERROR (from ZRSuninstall.log):

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.2 - see KB 7003225 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.2" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support 
 
In 10.2 the separate Business Objects entry will not be visible in add/remove programs.
 
If  BOE was uninstalled first, prohibiting 10.2 installation, then either install 10.2 to a second server.
 
 

Additional Information

After running ZRS 10.1 setup.exe, there are two entries in add/remove programs on the server:

  1. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2
  2. ZENworks Reporting server

To uninstall ZRS, remove number 2 above or run ZRSUninstall.exe.  Do not remove the entry for "BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2" as ZRSUninstall.exe will remove the BOE product.
