After DSFW install, LDAP search doesn't return all the entries

Environment

Novell eDirectory 8.8 for Linux
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2)

Situation

Installed DSFW on a OES2/SP1 server.
LDAP searches from the top of the tree no longer return all the entries.

Resolution

This behavior is by design. Once DSFW has been installed, LDAP searches on port 389 will not cross partition boundaries. In order to get all the entries, modify the LDAP search to use port 1389.
