Resolution
To delete the SBD partition (Cluster partition) perform the following steps :
- Bring all the nodes down in the cluster except the one which is running Master IP Resource.
- At the server system console type "uldncs" without quotes and hit enter. This will unjoin that node from the cluster.
- At the server system console type "nssmu" without quotes and hit enter. This will open up the NSS Management Utility.
- Navigate to the Partitions option and hit enter. There will be a partition starting with the word Cluster.
- Select that partition and note down the device name on which the partition resides. The device name will be in the following format: [V060-A3-D3:0]. The device name mentioned here is just an example to show the format of the device name. It can be different in actual scenario
- After noting down the device name. Press DEL key to delete the SBD partition (Cluster partition).
- At the server system console type "clstrlib.nlm" without quotes and hit enter.
- At the server system console type "vll.nlm" without quotes and hit enter.
- At the server system console type "sbdlib.nlm" without quotes and hit enter .
- At the server system console type "sbd.nlm" without quotes and hit enter. Once this command is executed at the server system console it will display lines saying 'Searching for the SBD partition'. Once that is done it will display a message saying 'No SBD partition found' type 'SBD Install' to create a new SBD partition.
- At the server system console type "sbd install" without quotes and hit enter. Once this command is executed at the server system console it will again display lines saying 'Searching for SBD partition'.
- Once that is done it will display a message saying: 'Do you want to create the mirrored SBD partition=n'.
- Hit enter to create a simple SBD partition instead of mirrored.
- Once that is done it will display the list of the name of the devices on which the SBD partition can be created. Match the name of the device with the name that has been dotted down during the deletion of the SBD partition.
- Enter the appropriate device number that is being displayed at the left side (prior to device name). It can be any number say 1 or 24 or 27 etc. Enter the device number and hit enter. This will create the SBD partition.
- Once the SBD partition is created at the server system console type "ldncs". This command will join the node back to the cluster.
- Once the first node join the cluster bring the other nodes up one by one.
Additional Information
Notes:
After deleting and re-creating the SBD partition do not bring other nodes up at the same time. Let one node join the cluster and then only bring the other node up.
