Error: "Loading from eDirectory failed" in named.run when loading novell-named

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (Linux based)

Situation

Error: "Loading from eDirectory failed" in named.run when loading novell-named.
The zone works, but updates to the zone are not taking effect.

Resolution

This can be caused by corruption in one of the eDirectory objects for the zone, especially if the error occurs on more than one DNS server.  The corruption in the zone can usually be corrected by using the DNS/DHCP Management Console to export the zone, delete the zone, and import the zone.
