Environment

Novell ZENworks 7 Server Management Support Pack 1 - ZSM7 SP1 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)

Situation

After installing ZFS with improper subscriber hostname in hosts file, distributions fail with error:

ERROR (from TED.log on subscriber):

"Stopped distribution from distributor subscriber.company.com due to mismatched destination in route."

Resolution

The DNS name that the Distributor sends to must match the DNS name by which the subscriber resolves itself.

Additional Information

Note for NetWare version:

In subscriber's zfs-startup.log look for this:

2009.02.02 14:54:58 [TED:Module] This host is known by the following IP address(es):
2009.02.02 14:54:58 [TED:Module]  192.168.0.5, server.company.com

In the distributor's ted.log look for this:

[TED:Event Processing] TESTDist.Distributions.ZSM.NOVELL: Sending distribution version 1220569920204 to server.company.org

The distributor is reading the "Network Address" attribute of the subscriber object.  If this attribute is incorrect, but the subscriber's zfs-startup.log has the correct information, you can fix the host file or DNS to reflect the proper DNS name and IP address for Distributor and Subscriber and modify the subscriber's "Network Address" attribute using ConsoleOne.
