Automated PRU or Live Update tasks are not working

Novell ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management - ZAM7.5

Situation

Automated PRU or Live Update tasks are not working.  The scheduled task to apply updates and PRUs along with Download and apply now are not taking place.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENWorks Asset Management Interim Release 17

Interim Releases can be scheduled to run automatically or can be downloaded manually at https://download.novell.com .   The Interim releases can be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section for details of how to set up automatic downloads if desired.

Each interim release is cumulative. If Interim Release 17 is not available due to a newer interim release being placed on the website, be assured that the code needed is in the later release.

Additional Information

Prior to this fix, ZAM was hardcoded to look for a particular server.  That part of the code has changed.  In order for the automated Live Updates or PRUs to take place IR 17 must be applied first.  If the Interim Release cannot be applied then the workaround is to manually download the PRU and when ready, you can apply Interim Release 17 or later for the updates for the automated process to continue.
