iPrint Direct setting on Printer Agents will not migrate from OES1 to OES2 SP1

Environment

Novell Open Enterprise Server 1 (OES 1) Support Pack 1 Linux

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2) Support Pack 1 Linux

Situation

Printer Agents that reside on OES1 Linux servers that have iPrint Direct enabled, will lose the iPrint Direct setting when migrated from OES1 to OES2.

Resolution

The resolution/workaround is to re-enable iPrint Direct on each of the Printer Agents after the migration has completed.  This can be accomplished by:
  1. Running iManager
  2. Select the iPrint link
  3. Select Manage Print Manager
  4. Select the desired print manager object
  5. Click on the Printer Agents tab
  6. Place a check mark in the iPrint Direct column for each Printer Agent as needed

Additional Information

This issue has been reported to engineering and has been isolated to a defect in the OES1 code.  The issue will not be addressed by a code change.  The above outlined workaround is the resolution to this issue.
