Situation
Roaming profile is not used when stored on a certain server volume, works
on other volumes
Default user profile is used when user logs in
Userenv.log contains
LoadUserProfile: NULL central profile path
at the point where the profile should load

Resolution
Check the trustees of the volume object:
[root] should have read access to the attributes "Host Resource Name" and"Host Server"
[root] should have read access to the attributes "Host Resource Name" and"Host Server"
