Situation
Purpose
Indexing documents located on an NSS volume of a remote NetWare 6.5 SP8 server, and display search results based on the rights of the users performing the search.
Symptoms:
No search results are displayed, no matter what rights the user has.
/var/opt/novell/tomcat5/logs/catalina.out reports that search hits are present but the user is unauthorized.
Right-based searches made on NSS volumes local to the QuickFinder server does not show this issue.
Changes
The indexed server where the documents are located does not hold a local replica of the partition where the user making the search resides.

Resolution
Fixed in Open Enterprise Server 2 Support Pack 2.
Workaround
Add on the indexed server a R/W replica of the partition where the users making the searches are located, or either move the documents to a server holding it. After this operation a restart of Tomcat 5 may be needed on the QuickFinder server.
