Environment

Novell GroupWise 6.5
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell GroupWise 8

Situation

Error using the WebAccess spell checker
Can't spell check message in WebAccess
Error: "Requested Language Unavailable"

Resolution

Modify the spellchk.cfg file and Correct the "Speller.Dictionary.path=" line.  By default it should point to:
For
NetWare 5:-        \\SERVERNAME\SYS\JAVA\SERVLETS\COM\NOVELL\COLLEXION\MORPHOLOGY\DATA.
NetWare 6:-        \\SERVERNAME\sys\Tomcat\33\webapps\ROOT\web-inf\classes\com\novell\collexion\morphology\data.
Windows 2000:-  C:\NOVELL\JAVA\SERVLETS\COM\NOVELL\COLLEXION\MORPHOLOGY\DATA.
Windows 2003 :- C:\Novell\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\web-inf\classes\com\novell\collexion\morphology\data
Linux :-                  /var/opt/novell/gw/WEB-INF/classes/com/novell/collexion/morphology/data

Also make sure that the location specified does contain the *.MOR files, and that the server name is correct and does not specify an  IP address.

Additional Information

GroupWise  uses the Spellchk.cfg file. This is located by default in the \NOVELL\WEBACCESS directory, to determine the location of it's dictionary files.  This error is seen when the "Speller.Dictionary.path=" line points to an invalid location, or if the *.MOR dictionary files do not exist in the specified location.

In one case the "Home.Speller.url" path in the Webacc.cfg was remarked out.  By taking the remark off and restarting WebAccess, Application and WebServer spell check worked again.
