Environment

Products:
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2)
Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)
Novell DHCP

Configuration:
IP Addresses mentioned in the Host objects fall in between the range of the created pool

Situation

DHCP not respecting the Host MAC Address Field or the Client Identifier if the Host IP Address is between a range
Unable to exclude an IP Address that lies in between the range defined in the pool
Unable to assign an IP Address to a particular Host if the IP Address is between the range defined in the pool
IP Address gets assigned even though a Host object is created for that IP Address

Resolution

This is Working as Designed. Reported to Engineering

Workaround Steps:
Split the pool in such a way that excluded or Host IP Address do not fall in between the range
OR
Add or edit an entry in the /var/lib/dhcp/db/dhcpd.leases file and change the ends field to an infinite date
