Winbind fails to start when server is rebooted

When the Domain Services for Windows server is rebooted winbind fails to start.
Run xadcntrl status shows the winbind service is not running.

The winbind and related packages installed are as follows:
samba-winbind 3.0.28-0.5
libsmbclient-3.0.28-0.5
samba-3.0.28-0.5

The /var/log/messages shows core in winbind and looks similiar to this:
