ZCM 10.1.x Group Policies causing longer than expected logins

Environment

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with Support Pack 1 - 10.1 Policies

Situation

ZCM agent login (user name and password submitted till desktop is available) without Group Policies being deployed takes 15 seconds or so.

ZCM agent login (user name and password submitted till desktop is available) with Group Policies being deployed, login takes 2 minutes 15 seconds or longer.

Resolution

Workaround: if it is not possible to upgrade to 10.2 at this time, in the interim, Novell has made a Patch available for testing, in the form of a Field Test File (FTF): it can be obtained at https://download.novell.com as "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.1.3 GPO Slow Login FTF-See TID 7002216" for ZCM 10.1.3, and "ZENworks Configuration Management 10.1.2a GPO Slow Login FTF-See TID 7002216" for ZCM 10.1.2 and 10.1.2a

This Patch should only be applied if the symptoms above are being experienced, and are causing problems.

This Patch has had limited testing, and should not be used in a production system without first being checked in a test environment.
