Configuration for Audit failure Alerts is not available in cluster setup

Environment

Novell Access Manager 3.1 Linux Access Gateway
Novell Access Manager 3.1 Access Administration

Situation

Access Manager 3.1 has created a few new NSure audit logging options for the Linux Access Gateway. These options include the following:

Failure in Audit, Stopping Services
Failure in Audit, Will lose events, but continuing services
Failure in Audit, Server is offline

They are used as an audit and troubleshooting tool to determine the state of the platform agent on the Linux Access Gateway (LAG). When the LAG is setup as part of a cluster configuration, the above logging options are not visible or available in the list of audit events that an administrator can chose to log. When the LAG is setup as a single server, all options appear as expected.

Resolution

Install the Linux Access Gateway server from scratch. When the LAG is upgraded from 3.0 to the 3.1 version, the cluster configuration XML file does not get updated with the new events. The only way to get the new events is to install the LAG from CD. By simply putting the 3.1 ISO into the LAG host and reinstalling with the same IP address, the new LAG will inherit the existing configuration from the configuration store, and have all the new audit events in the configuration file to chose from.
