Environment

Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell GroupWise 8
Novell NetWare 6.5
Novell Connectivity  IPX/SPX

Situation

GroupWise WebAccess is unable to uninstall to a NetWare server both in the application and agent forms.
The errors include NCP errors and object errors that show up as 'unknown'.
The install fails out about three-fourths of the way through.

Resolution

The resolutions for this may be varied; but for lack of more information, here is what has been found to work in the instances described in this TID.

A.  Update the Novell Client to the latest version.  The version at the time of the writing of this TID was 4.91 SP5.
B.  Remove all connectivity-related legacy applications from the server.
This includes any Port Resolvers, IPX/SPX, etc.
C.  If any legacy WebAccess pieces are installed, delete them.  This includes previous versions in the same major release.
e.g. - WebAccess 7.0.1 is installed and cannot be updated.  Remove the previous install and attempt the install again.

Additional Information

WebAccess seems to fail when it attempts to make a connection using the protocols installed on the server.
If legacy protocols exist and/or have not been updated in some time, this may cause NCP failures during the copy.
In most instances, installations to NetWare servers occur over an NCP connection via a workstation with the Novell Client installed.
Sometimes the Novell Client does not deal well with IPX, though in several instances, updating the Novell Client fixed the problem.
