Environment

Novell ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management - ZAM7.5

Situation

Network Discovery is not gathering IP information of the Server if the Server has teaming enabled.  Please see important information within Additional notes on how to enable this functionality.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENWorks Asset Management Interim Release 16 or newer.

Interim Releases can be scheduled to run automatically or can be downloaded manually at https://download.novell.com .   The Interim releases can be set up within the ZAM Manager for the Task server to check the site on a scheduled basis, and download and apply them automatically. Please refer to the Help Section for details of how to set up automatic downloads if desired.

Each interim release is cumulative. If Interim Release 16 is not available due to a newer interim release being placed on the website, be assured that the code needed is in the later release.

Additional Information

Added a new AcceptVirtualMIB option to force the acceptance of MIBs containing the word "virtual" if an IP address cannot be found any other way. This permits getting the IP address from teamed NICs.

This new option may be used on a per-workstation basis by including it in Options.Txt, or may be used on an enterprise-wide basis by including it in the appropriate Collection Option Set(s).

If you want to use Options.txt on a per workstation basis then you will need to create a text file named Options.txt and add one line 'AcceptVirtualMIB' without the quotes. This text file should then be placed in the Collector's install \bin directory

If you should decide to use the option enterprise- wide  then within the Collection option set being used, Collector tab, Advanced button you will add in the option 'AcceptVirtualMIB', again without the quotes.  If other options are also enabled then each option must be separated with a semi-colon.
