Environment
Novell Apache on NetWare
Novell NetWare 6.5
Novell GroupWise 8
Situation
When installing the Calendar Publishing Host Administration component, a Group name was specified on the Authentication Information page, but no context was specified.
Trying to access the Calendar Publishing Host Administration webpage, you receive a Login failed error on the screen.
Resolution
- Make sure that you are using the correct userid that was specified during the installation of the Calendar Publishing Host component
- Review the configuration stored in the calhost.cfg file. This file is found by default in sys:\novell\groupwise\calhost.
- Look for a line similar to Admin.Ldap.context=cn={0},cn=calpubadmin,o=corp
- Make sure that the correct User cn is listed and the correct LDAP contex
- Also look for the line, Admin.attr=groupMembership. If this is specified, then it is required that the User account be apart of a particular Group. This is not required.
- Finally look for the line, Admin.Attr.value=cn=CalPubAdminGrp,o=corp. Make sure that you have this group object in your eDirectory tree and that you also have listed the correct LDAP context
- If you did not specify a context during installation, it will default to cn=somegroup,o=novell
- If you had to make changes to the calhost.cfg file, you will need to restart Apache.
