iPrint error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused IPP error 0x40001

Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (OES 2)
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Support Pack 1 - i586 only
Novell iPrint for Linux

Situation

The follow symptoms are observed after updating via RUG:

Symptom 1:
Error when attempting to manage iPrint through iManager:

java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
IPP Error: 0x40001

Symptom 2:
When restarting apache (rcapache2 restart), the following error is returned:
httpd2-worker syntax error on line 177 of etc/apache2/httpd.conf  syntax error on line 99 of etc/apache2/default-server.conf syntax error on line 2 of /etc/apache2/conf.d/oes_http.conf syntax error on line 33 of /etc/opt/novell/httpd/conf.d/iprint_g.conf cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/mod_headers.so into server /sr/lib/apache2/mod_headers.so cannot opend shared object file: no such file or directory


Resolution

Cause:
An Apache update was put in the RUG Channel.  The slesp1-apache2-5629 update to apache2-2.2.3-16.17.5 caused the problem.  This update was removed from the Channel 13NOV2008. 

The Apache update is a security change, so reverting to a prior revision is not advisable. 

Resolution:
Install patch slesp1-apache2-5767 (apache2-2.2.3-16.17.7) or later.
