Additional Information
The problem is that Bi-Directional communication between the client
and the printer is not established. iPrint client from OES2 SP1
populates a registry entry ("NovellSNMPAddressAndPort") for the
SNMP communication address. This is currently consumed by soem printer vendors like HP and
Xerox, but not from Canon, therefore Canon printers do not communicate bi-directionally with
iPrint client. Lan trace analysys shown that in this specific
scenario no bi-directional communications occurs.
This is being tracked as a feature request for OES2. If and when Canon will changes their code to do so, the Bi-Di communication channel thus established should ensure that the functionality "Get Device Information" button, as all the remaining Bi-Di functionality, will work.
