Error 0x000006AB when attempting to change AD password during eDirectory login

Novell Client 2 SP2 IR2 for Windows 7
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

Situation

On a Windows 7 PC, during login, when the eDir and AD passwords are not yet synchronized, if you select the option "Change your Windows password to match your Novell
password",  after several seconds the error, "Password not changed.  The attempt to change the password has failed. 0x000006AB" will occur.  Pressing OK
will take you to the desktop.  The AD password will not be synchronized with the eDirectory password.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in the Novell Client 2 SP3 release which can be downloaded from https://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=WVA4kcizKVw~ .
