Situation

Installing the ZENworks Imaging partition brings up the imaging every time on reboot.

Resolution

Fixed in ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Service Pack 1 Interim Release 4, see KB 3484245 "Updates to Novell ZENworks 7 Desktop Management" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Workaround:

The following steps tell how to do this.

  1. Open initrd file following the instructions at:
    Modifying imaging resource files
  2. Edit file util.s contained in initrd at location bin/util.s
  3. Search for the line: echo "gfxmenu (hd0,$ZENPARTGRUB)/boot/i386/loader/message">> $destFile
  4. Add the following line above it:  echo "hiddenmenu">> $destFile
  5. Repackage the initrd following instructions at:
    Modifying imaging resource files
  6. Place the modified initrd file in the bootcd.iso
