Error -723 when running DSREPAIR

Environment

Novell eDirectory 8.5 (85.xx)

Situation

Error -723 when running DSREPAIR
Error:  "Unable to open database error -723.  Program execution cannot continue normally" trying to run a repair after upgrade interrupted.
Upgrade to eDirectory interrupted.

Resolution

1. Load DSREPAIR - In the upper portion of the screen, check the DS.NLM version.  If it says eDirectory (DS.NLM version 85.xx), continue to Step 2. 2.  Check the SYS:\_NETWARE directory for NDS.* files.  If there are none, the directory has not been upgraded  (use NETBASIC, JCMD, TOOLBOX, etc) 3..  Load NWCONFIG | Directory Options | Remove directory services from this server (this should give a message that "Directory Services has already been removed"). 4.  Load NWCONFIG | Directory Options | Install Directory Services.  The upgrade may continue. 5.  Check the SYS:\_NETWARE directory for NDS.* files again. 6.  If the NDS.DB and NDS.01 files are present, perform an NDS Health Check - TID 3564075 to verify the health of the upgraded Directory Services.
