Proper functioning of retention feature in GroupWise

Users are able to delete mails from trash even before they are being backed up


  1. Launch ConsoleOne.
  2. Highlight the Domain, Post Office or the User object where retention needs to be set.
  3. Click Tools | Options | Environment | Cleanup.
  4. Check the "Allow purge of items not backed up" setting. If it is selected, de-select it. If it is not selected and this is the Post Office or Domain Object, toggle the setting and then rebuild the Post Office Database. Follow the instructions in the TID to rebuild the Post Office Database:
