Environment

NSL6.0.x
NSL 6.1.x
Windows XP workstation
Windows Vista workstation

Situation

With NSL6.0, right clicking on the SecureLogin icon in the system tray and selecting "About" will show the full version of SecureLogin that is being used (e.g. 6.0.010).

With NSL6.1 right clicking on the SecureLogin icon in the system tray and selecting "About" will show the base version but not the patch revision level.  (e.g. 6.1.0)

Resolution

To find the complete version of  NSL6.1 being used on a Windows XP workstation, locate Novell SecureLogin in Control Panel, Add/ Remove Programs and click on "Support Information."   The full version will be shown (e.g. 6.1.009).

With Windows Vista, however, there is no "Support Information" button available in Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features.  Instead you can add a column for "version" that shows the full version for all installed programs.  Add this column by right clicking in the title bar inside Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features, clicking "more," and then selecting "version." This will display the full version of Novell SecureLogin (e.g. 6.1.0.010).

Complete version information for SecureLogin can also be found in the registry for Windows Vista operating systems.  Run regedit and look at the value for  "InternalVersion" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Protocom\SecureLogin.
