GWENN5.NLM reports [no memory] on one cluster node

Environment

Novell GroupWise 7 Support Pack 3
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 7

Situation

GroupWise is being loaded on a two node NetWare cluster on identical hardware.  If GroupWise fails over to one node, GWDVA fails to load due to GWENN5.NLM reporting [No Memory] on the logger screen.  WebAccess then tried to load it over and over.  This has been seen with the GroupWise 7 Document Viewer Agents (GWDVA).  This is caused when there is not enough free virtual memory on the server, due to SERVER.EXE being loaded with a too low -u value.

Resolution

Increase the value of the -u SERVER.EXE load parameter in the AUTOEXEC.BAT or remove it entirely.  That parameter has been used in former support packs to solve memory allocation issues in NetWare 6.5 and should no longer be necessary on current support packs (SP7 and newer)
