Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management

Devices fail to receive new bundles or new system updates.
ERROR (from zmd-messages.log with debug enabled):
[DEBUG] [8/22/2008 9:35:28 PM] [] [RegistrationManager] [] [Error during device registration: Unexpected server result. Server code: -34. Server message Invalid Device Authentication Information.] [] []

This is fixed in version 10.1.3 - see KB 7002526 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.1.3" which can be found at

Additional Information

In individual cases, error -34 means that two devices with the same guid (stored in zisd data - ziswin, or deviceguid file) are each trying to register or confirm existing registration.  The zisd data contains authentication information for the device to avoid duplicate devices registering to the same guid.  If these devices are clones or otherwise have improper conflicting guids, then one should have its guid information cleared.
If instead this problem arises en masse from an update to 10.0.3, contact Novell Technical Support for a field test file to correct the problem.
