Imaging does not work when ZCM 10.1 uses non-default ports

Environment

ZENworks 10 Configuration Management with SP1 (10.1) Installation - Server

Situation

Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management does not use default ports for HTTP (80) and HTTPS (443)

Cannot get PXE menu to appear

Cannot use imaging actions

Cannot use hardware rule to restore image

ERROR: "Failed to connect to ZCM server [server name]at port 443. Error code: 12. Certificate doesn't verify.
[ZIMGWEB-OHC] cannot connect to server : 0
[ZENIMGWEB-GPMS] Error opening the socket : -602"

Resolution

This is fixed in version 10.2 - see KB 7003225 "ZENworks 10 Configuration Management 10.2" which can be found at https://www.novell.com/support

Workaround:

For Linux:
  1. Manually edit the file /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/novell-zenimgweb.conf and update the HTTP_PORT and HTTPS_PORT with the values entered for HTTP and HTTPS during ZCM installation.
  2. Restart the service using the command
         /etc/init.d/novell-pbserv restart
 For Windows:
  1. Manually edit the file %ZENWORKS_HOME%\conf\preboot\novell-zenimgweb.conf and update the HTTP_PORT and HTTPS_PORT with the values entered for HTTP and HTTPS during ZCM installation.
  2. Restart the service "Novell ZENworks Preboot Service"
