Microsoft Security patches fail to apply on Chinese language devices

Patch Management has been configured for different Chinese language support like Hong Kong Chinese and Traditional Chinese
Also the Mix Multiple Languages option is enabled which is a requirement for proper Hong Kong Chinese language support.
Microsoft Windows Security patches show is applicable
When trying to deploy such a Microsoft Windows Security Patch, the resulting patch deployment bundle misses the actions to actually install the patch


This is fixed in version 11.2 - see KB 7010044 "ZENworks Configuration Management 11.2 - update information and list of fixes" which can be found at

Workaround: if it is not possible to upgrade to 11.2 at this time, in the interim, Novell has made a Patch available for testing, in the form of a Field Test File (FTF): it can be obtained at as "ZCM/ZPM 11.1 Patch Management server update 2". This Patch should only be applied if the symptoms above are being experienced, and are causing problems.

This Patch has had limited testing, and should not be used in a production system without first being checked in a test environment. Some Patches have specific requirements for deployment, it is very important to follow any instructions in the readme at the download site. Please report any problems encountered when using this Patch, by using the feedback link on this TID.

NOTE: After applying the Patch Management FTF, the following steps are required to correct the related patch information in the ZCM SQL database:
  1. Deselect any Chinese language support in ZENworks Control Center under Configuration > Management Zone Settings > Patch Management > Subscription Download
  2. Trigger the subscription service in in ZENworks Control Center under Configuration > Management Zone Settings > Patch Management > Subscription Service Information. Click the Update Now button and  wait for the subscription service cycle to complete.
  3. Reselect the Chinese language support.
  4. Trigger the subscription service once again and wait for the cycle to complete.


Patch information is not stored correctly in the ZCM SQL database.
