Situation
Unable to manually stop Patch Service when ZCM server is in high utilization.
ZCM patch content import appears to cause high CPU utilization

Resolution
Upgrade to ZENworks 10 with Support Pack 1 (10.1). The ability to stop the Patch Service in ZCM does not exist.
Additional Information
The Patch Service in ZENworks 10.1 has been improved so that the system
no longer makes bundles for every single vulnerability. Rather than
making thousands of bundles by default the system now just make bundles
for the ones the administrator wants to deploy (a couple of dozen by
default). This improvement will reduce the high utilization on the CPU
that impact content import and zenloader when first subscribing to
patches.
Another improvement is the ability for the ZCM system to support external content that is non-encrypted, saving time that the encryption process would have consumed.
