Environment

Products:
Novell GroupWise 7 Support Pack 3
Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

Symptoms:
1.POA logs on Linux server shows "No Software Distribution Directory Configured." ,inspite of setting up software distribution directory correctly in ConsoleOne.

Resolution

Corrective Action:
1. Goto Post office properties -post office settings and select Software Distribution Directory to (Not Set).
2.In ConsoleOne Goto-Tools-GroupWise Systems Operations-Software Directory Management.- delete the existing sdd .
3.Create a New SDD and this time instead of giving UNC path ,copy the same path and paste it in Linux path field.Keep the UNC path blank. After this it might not let you click on ok , so click the cursor in UNC path field and give a space and it should allow you to click on ok.
4.Once created the SDD with linux path-select that sdd in the post office properties. Once done that bring down POA , rename wphost.db and rebuild and validate it. and then bring POA up.

Optionally if you wish that the users should be able to access the SDD to upgrade their clients , so you will have to create a samba share pointing to the SDD for eg /share (where /share would be pointing to the path of SDD) .You can then specify the UNC path to this share ie /share and in Linux Path give the full path as before.
