Situation

Symptoms:
ERROR: "[2.4.1606] The current ZENworks Asset Management Product Recognition from 02-Apr-08 is newer than Product Recognition Update 0 released on 06-Mar-08."
Unable to apply PRU released on June 2008
Unable to perform a Product Recognition Update on ZENWorks Asset Management
Unable to perform a PRU on ZAM 7
Unable to perform a PRU on ZAM 7.5
Unable to apply update to ZENWorks Asset Management
Unable to apply update to ZAM

Resolution

Workaround Steps:
1. Download the update from https://download.novell.com/patch/finder. Select the Product as ZENworks Asset Management. Select and download the latest ZENworks 7 Asset Management Support Pack.
2. Extract it
3. Browse to Extracted Update\pruver.tkb
4. Change the ReleaseDate to DD/MM/YYYY format. For example, change it to 03/06/2008
5. Save the file
6. Launch ZENworks Asset Management Manager
7. Login using the user name and password
8. Click Administration | Product Recognition Update
9. Browse to the path where the update was extracted
10. Click Apply Update

Root Cause:
06/03/2008 is being interpreted as 6th March 2008 instead of 3rd June 2008. This issue is faced if the date format is set to DD-MMM-YYYY in the Regional Settings
