Novell Client for Windows 2000/XP/2003 4.91 Support Pack 4
Situation
Long delays are seen when browsing for NDPS Controlled Access Printers through the Microsoft Add Printer Wizard.
Resolution
Apply NDPPNT.DLL dated 29APR2008 or later. To find an updated NDPPNT.DLL:
a. Go to download.novell.com
b. Select Novell Client from the "Product or Technology" drop down list.
c. Click the "patches" link.
d. As of June 2008, the "Novell Client 4.91 Post-SP2/3/4 NWSPOOL.DLL 3" patch contains the needed fix. In the future, that patch set may be replaced by another.
Workaround
Back rev NDPPNT.DLL to the version used before the Novell Client 4.91 Post-SP2/3/4 NWSPOOL.DLL 2 update was applied.
a. Go to download.novell.com

Additional Information
Novell released a security update to NWSPOOL.DLL and NDPPNT.DLL (both dated 07FEB2007). The updated NDPPNT.DLL introduces a bug that causes the browsing for NDPS Controlled Access Printers to experience long delays. The patch name that contains this bug is Novell Client 4.91 Post-SP2/3/4 NWSPOOL.DLL or 491psp2_3_4_nwspool_2.zip.
