php.ini and httpd.conf are overwritten by a Service Pack upgrade

Situation

Customer upgraded to the latest service pack and found that PHP and Apache settings had reverted to their defaults.

Further investigation showed that the PHP.INI and HTTPD.CONF files had been overwritten.

Resolution

If the backup option is chosen when the Service Pack installation is started, everything should get backed up to SYS:SYSTEM\BACKSPx.
